| Abstract: | European policies of closing borders led to a rising number of deportees in Mali. Based on the master narrative of a successful migration history, the deportee is taken personally responsible for having failed. This prevents realising the political reasons for a high number of failed migrants and dealing with the growing difficulties for migration to Europe. |
