Formação superior nas tecnologias de informação e comunicação: oportunidades e constrangimentos

Abstract

Tem sido afirmado nos últimos anos pelo discurso político de que existe um número reduzido de trabalhadores qualificados disponíveis no mercado de trabalho na área das TIC face às necessidades empresariais existentes no sector. É muitas vezes proferido a inexistência de uma atractividade por parte dos alunos para ingressarem em cursos TIC. Por um lado, estamos perante um campo de oportunidades, por outro lado estamos perante vários constrangimentos. Este artigo procura compreender este dilema do sistema de educação com uma breve ilustração da realidade.

In recent years, political discourse has stated that there is a limited number of skilled workers available on the IT market in relation to the business needs of the sector. The notion is regularly expressed that there is no attraction on the part of students to enrol in IT courses. On the one hand, we are dealing with a field of opportunities and, on the other, we are facing a series of constraints. This article seeks to understand this dilemma in the educational system, with a brief illustration of the situation in reality.
