Atualmente com 18 mil indivíduos, encontra-se em processo de declínio e envelhecimento, cujo volume de entradas é insuficiente para combater os processos em curso. Embora haja uma maior presença de homens face às mulheres, verifica-se uma tendência para o equilíbrio entre sexos. A grande maioria da população encontra-se a residir nos estados de New South Wales, Victoria e Western Australia. Trata-se de uma população com médias a baixas qualificações, cuja maioria se encontra no mercado de trabalho. As suas principais ocupações são: técnicos e outros comerciantes, operários, profissionais, gestores, trabalhadores clericais e administrativos, trabalhadores comunitários e de serviços pessoais, operadores de maquinaria e condutores e, por fim, vendedores. Trata-se de uma população maioritariamente católica e na sua maioria composta por agregados de casais com filhos.; Portuguese emigration to Australia is, above all, a phenomenon of the second half of the 20th century. Currently with 18 thousand individuals, it is undergoing a process of decline and aging, with an insufficient volume of entries to combat the ongoing processes. Although there is a greater presence of men compared to women, there is a tendency towards balance between the sexes. The vast majority of the population lives in the states of New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. This is a population with medium to low qualifications, the majority of whom are in the job market. Their main occupations are technicians and other tradespeople, labourers, professionals, managers, clerical and administrative workers, community and personal service workers, machinery operators and drivers and, finally, salespeople. It is a predominantly Catholic population and is mostly made up of couples with children.

O documento acompanha a evolução das qualificações académicas dos emigrantes portugueses ao longo das últimas duas décadas (2001-2021) e examina a sua posição relativa face a outras comunidades estrangeiras e à população espanhola. Através desta análise, identificam-se tendências de mudança no perfil educativo da emigração portuguesa, bem como persistências e contrastes relevantes no contexto migratório espanhol.; This statistical report examines the educational attainment of the Portuguese population residing in Spain, drawing on census data. It examines the evolution of the academic qualifications of Portuguese emigrants over the last two decades (2001–2021) and assesses their relative position in comparison with other foreign-born communities and the Spanish population. Through this analysis, the study identifies trends of change in the educational profile of Portuguese emigration, as well as significant continuities and contrasts within the Spanish migration context.

Ao longo do século XX, o Norte de África foi reconhecido como uma região de destino de emigrantes portugueses e espanhóis. Marrocos tornou-se uma terra economicamente atrativa para migrantes laborais e um refúgio para exiliados que fugiram das ditaduras da Península Ibérica. No entanto, este destino da emigração portuguesa foi pouco estudado na literatura. Alguns estudos mostram a presença de emigrantes portugueses provenientes do Algarve. A escassez de informação sobre a trajetória e a possível pluralidade de origens dos emigrantes motivou a elaboração da presente factsheet. Para tal, foi constituída uma base de dados com 309 cédulas de inscrição de portugueses residentes em Marrocos, entre 1931 e 1936. Por este meio, é possível identificar as principais rotas migratórias para Marrocos e constituir uma tipologia dos perfis sociológicos destes emigrantes.; Study on demographic, geographic and social characteristics of Portuguese emigration to Morocco between 1931 and 1936. During the 20th century, North Africa was recognized as a significant destination for Portuguese and Spanish emigrants. Morocco developped an attractive economy for labor migrations and became a refuge for people fleeing dictatorships in the Iberian Peninsula. However, this destination of Portuguese emigration has been marginally studied in the literature. Few studies analize the presence of Portuguese emigrants from the Algarve. The scarcity of information on the trajectory and possible plurality of origins of the emigrants motivated the preparation of this factsheet. To this end, a database was created with 309 consular registration cards of Portuguese residents in Morocco between 1931 and 1936. In this way, it is possible to identify the main migration routes to Morocco and to constitute a typology of the sociological profiles of Portuguese emigrants.
