Resumo:	We consider a storage system where a stock of k units is replaced instantaneously, when needed. A Poisson type stochastic demand is admitted. It is verified that the expected present value function of the replenishment cost of the storage system satisfies a defective renewal equation for which an asymptotic expansion is proposed.
